i-buttons or Dallas Keys are supplied to every driver, when the ignition is turned on the driver msut touch the i-button onto the i-button reader, this small device is installed near the driver usually on the facia to the right of the steering wheel. If the button is not presented to the reader the unit emits a high pitched tone which continues to sound for a pre determined period. The information is then displayed on the driver id reports. This facility is in use with one of our customers who operate around 160 vehicles and has helped with identifying who has been speeding, previously the CEO was taking the fines and was in danger of loosing his licence, this has now eliminated that problem. Another client has had the problem where an employee not authorised to drive a certail class of vehicle has actually been driving illegally, with this system we can programe a 'Skills Set' into the key ensuring the correct level of skill can only operate the vehicle.
