For privacy, monitoring of actual journey details can be switched off out of business hours, but the system can still record private mileage, providing an accurate record for Inland Revenue purposes.
When vehicles are not to be used, for example, between certain hours or at weekends, a trigger alert can be established, warning a fleet manager by text message that the vehicle is in transit and, if being stolen, the vehicle can be tracked and located.
